3Lithium's standard mounts cover most kayaks on the market. This custom mount is for cases where none of them fits properly: kayaks with an unusually shaped stern, with the brand's own mounting systems, kayaks from other brands or any boat that needs a tailored solution.
It is also made in a dedicated version for the STG motor on kayaks with an integrated propeller system, so the installation is clean and correctly aligned.
Before it is made, the measurements are checked with you to make sure they match your kayak.
A badly positioned mount reduces the motor's performance. Under normal load, the propeller should sit 20 to 30 cm deep below the waterline. Too high and it cavitates (spins in air) and loses thrust. Too low and it increases drag and may touch the bottom in shallow water.
The installation angle also counts: with the motor out of line, the kayak drifts to one side even with the control straight. With a custom mount, these settings are matched to your kayak from day one.
